Review Chicago Cutlery Landmark 12-Piece Knife Set with Block - Like another reviewer, I was swayed by the recommendations of CR. Unlike several of the other reviewers, I have not yet experienced the problems encountered by them. So far, no rust spots, but I hand wash & dry immediately after use. When the set arrived the block, while not exceptional, was undamaged, and again, so far, the guides have not come loose. Perhaps customer complaints have led to a resolution to this problem?

Having never had a "real" set of knives to compare these to makes a ranking difficult. However, I am satisfied for the return on the money I spent. On a further, note, my daughter, who is in culinary school, stated that these knives are a little on the lightweight side, but the balance (feel) appears good, and that they cut very well.

UPDATE: I've had this set a year now. So far no problems and I am very satisfied with my purchase. I've had no rust: I DON'T put 'em in the dishwasher; I hand wash & dry immediately. I still hold to my initial assessment: This set is a good, not great, value for the money.
